ABOUT
Multiscale Mechanics & Materials Design Laboratory
The MMMD Lab takes pride in computational modeling as a core scientific driver, not merely as a supporting tool. Our identity is rooted in advancing leading-edge ideas in multiscale simulation, where physics-based modeling and experimental insight are combined to address materials challenges that cannot be solved by conventional approaches alone.
We actively extend our analysis and simulation technologies into industry–academia collaboration, translating multiscale mechanics and materials modeling into practical engineering solutions. In particular, the lab is recognized for proposing innovative computational frameworks for durability and degradation under extreme environments, including space and nuclear systems, where coupled thermal, mechanical, and radiation effects critically govern material performance.
Driven by the belief that impactful materials research must bridge theory, computation, and real-world application, the MMMD Lab positions itself as a hub for forward-looking ideas, reliable simulations, and engineering-relevant innovation across scales.
